Osteotomy around the knee is planned toward an anatomical bone correction in less than half of patients

In cases where the femur or tibial deformity is not correctly analysed, corrective osteotomies may result in an oblique joint line. The aim of this study was to assess preoperative patients due undergo osteotomy and resulting abnormal femoral morphologies after planned correction using 3D software. CT scans 327 undergoing were retrospectively included. Each patient a software application simulated validated by surgeon. Following virtual osteotomy, coronal angular values considered if outside 97.5% confidence intervals for non-osteoarthritis knees. After morphological abnormalities split into two types. Type 1 under/overcorrection at site bone morphology. A type 2 defined as error correction, uncorrected global rate 50.7% (166/327) with 44% 6.7%. 6.7% (22/327) only 1. lower HKA significantly associated non-anatomical (R2 = 0.12, p < 0.001) both 0.06, 0.07, abnormalities.
